We are headed back to Phoenix on Friday and look forward to reading him the latest… we’ll let you know how it goes. We love seeing them, so we know dad will love hearing them!!

Dad’s 8th surgery took place on Tuesday, June 28th. The doctors were able to autograft all of his left leg and a portion of his right leg. We knew there was a possibility that some areas might not be grafted due to the large surface still needed to be covered. As you might expect, we are super excited to see the main grafts be completed. The doctors feel that dad will experience fewer complications when all the major grafts are done. Surgery #9 will be scheduled once dad’s donor sites are healed (typically 10-14 days).

The nurses replaced dad’s main lines on Sunday to prevent infection associated with long term access to a single area. As a result, he was removed from CRRT for 24 hours. There has been no improvement to his kidney performance. Although dad’s heart spent a majority of time in normal rhythm over the last week, it did drop to an abnormally low rate a couple times yesterday. These were very brief, but do concern us.

We appreciate everyone tracking dad’s progress. Please continue to keep dad in your thoughts and prayers.

Colin and Ian

Family and Friends, Thanks so much for all the thoughtful posts and emails over the holiday!
