Update #3

Friends and family,

There is not much news to report. At this point in Dad’s recovery, this is good news. The recovery from an injury like his is a very long process and things move along quite slowly. Dad is still heavily sedated and on the ventilator, allowing his body to focus solely on healing. The doctors have reduced the amount of fluids he receives, because his body is stabilizing. And he is also up to the full feeding goals, which is very important to promote healing.

Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers. We will continue to send updates as things progress.

Colin and Ian

    Dear Colin & Ian,

My heart goes out to you. I can personally say “I know how you feel”, unfortunately. My husband was in a motorcycle accident in June, and wasn’t expected to live. He was in hospital for 3 months and 10 days. My heart is heavy because I truly do know how you feel. I used to hate when people told me that, because no one, unless they walked in our shoes, knows what this is like, I do.

I will keep your father in my thoughts and prayers and monitor your blog. I pray for his recovery and I pray for you both to continue to have strength for his recovery.

I will send you my personal email, if you should need to contact me as someone on Facebook told me about your situation.

I am so sorry you are going through this, it is terribly devastating and be sure to keep your strength by eating, taking your vitamins, take turns sleeping, and being with him bedside. He knows you are there! My husband was in a coma for 3 weeks and says he “knew” I was there.

Many blessings to you and and to your father.

    Kind Regards,
    Shelley Brice-Boyle

What a devastating accident and long trip back for Colin! I am sending him healing and love and happiness that he has such ‘together boys’ that are communicating this appreciated news. Tell him his high school pal is rooting for him!

“No news is always good news” for this type recovery. Colin and Ian, your Dad is so proud of you both and talked about your whereabouts and doings, frequently, with love and pride. Care-giving is emotionally, spiritually and physically exhausting.

    Take care of each other!

    xoxo Sandee

Soooo very sorry to hear about Colin. I saw what was left of his bike and wondered what happened and if the rider was ok. We haven’t been intouch since Aaron had his bad accident in july 09. Our prayers go with you and Colin for a complete recovery.
